Friends of the Library

What is a Friends of the Library group?

Friends of the Library are a group of people voluntarily working together to assist their local Library branch by:

  • Serving as a means of communication between the community and the Library
  • Promoting the use of the Library by all groups in the community
  • Organizing community cultural activities in the Library
  • Giving practical help to Library staff
  • Arranging fundraising activities and encouraging sources of funding

Friends also organise regular excursions and activities to benefit members. Membership is just $5 for individuals or $10 for organisations, and all funds raised by Friends group go to benefit their local Library branch.

Ask the Library staff for more information on joining the Friends.
