This series explores the motivations, memories and connections behind some of the most exciting and cutting edge new home builds ever seen. In one of our most gruelling projects ever, there is the Queensland house made entirely out of shipping containers--with the singular aim of making the house water-tight after the family's previous house was devastated in the 2011 Queensland floods. Other fascinating stories include the Port Melbourne house where the exterior is made from 30 black, two-metre high water tanks; and the Mornington Peninsula modernist house that started as a six month project and blew out to four years--becoming the slowest build in Grand Designs Australia history.
